"I hope Tessa comes to Clara's party it's the biggest party of the year." I told my mom "And her mom is all uptight about parties." I lay down on her bed upset and tried to think of ways to convince Tessa's mom. My mom went downstairs to make breakfast. After a few minutes of brainstorming I had drawn up a couple plans.
"Rachel!" my mom's voice drifted up the stairs along with the smell of pancakes. "Breakfast is ready!"
"Coming, mom!" I shouted and ran down the stairs putting my slipppers on at the same time, I tripped and sprawled on the last step. "Ow." I grumbled
"Wachel fell" giggled my 3 year-old brother, Timmy, who was the cutest nuisance in the world.
"Are you okay?" mom asked leaning over me and helping me up
"Yeah, I'm fine" I said brushing myself off. At that moment my cell rang and I rushed upstairs, tripping on the way. I could hear my mom and little brother giggling downstairs, I groaned got up and went up the rest of the stairs. It was Tessa.
"Yellow!" I answered jokingly
"Rach? It's me..." I could hear how sad she was
"Don't tell me," I said depressed "you can't come."
"Yeah, you know my mom..." Tessa said, I knew it.
"Well, the party will be nothing without you!" I tried.
"I know," said Tessa cheerfully "that's why I'm coming!"
"You're sneaking out?" I asked suprised. "I've thought of a couple of plans..." I started saying but Tessa interrupted me.
"No..." I could hear her grinning "my mom said yes! But I will ask you for those plans, just in case..."
"Great! I'll be right over" I said happily and hung up. I threw on my grey sweatshirt and stuffed the plans in my pink bag which I slung over my shoulder. "I'm going to Tessa's house!" I shouted to my mom
"Be safe" she said. Such a motherly thing to say. I jogged over to Tessa's house. When I got to her house she was already waiting for me at the door.
"Hey!" she said
"Hey, Tess!" I replied "Hi Ms. Q!
"Come" Tessa ordered and I followed her up the stairs. At Tessa's door she let me go ahead and I curtsied jokingly. I could see her shaking her head, smiling. I love Tessa's room, the walls are neon green but the one with the window is sky blue. The bed with it's orange quilt to one side and her desk scattered with stuff to the other. I tossed my bag with the plans on her bed.
"The plans are in there" I told her. Tessa thanked me and started trying to straighten out her desk. I had no idea what to wear so I walked into her walk-in closet looking for ideas, she has the prettiest dresses. Tessa followed me in
"What are you wearing?" she asked
"No idea" I said. I heard Tessa sigh which only means one thing; she's gonna say something she knows she'll regret.
"You want to wear something of mine?" she asked
"Yes!" I screamed and hugged her. I searcherd Tessa's racks of clothes and then I saw it. I gasped, it was perfect. I pulled it off it's hanger and held it up to myself, it was purple held up by spaghetti straps. At the bottom the colour got darker. It was about an inch above my knee.
"Oh no." Tessa shook her head "I got that for Christmas."
"Pretty please with a cherry on top and lots of sprinkles!" I pleaded
"Fine" she surrendered
"Really?" I asked half suprised
"Yes" Tessa said. I hugged her and clung on. It took Tessa a while to peel me off, I admit, I sometimes take jokes a little too far.
"Now find me a dress" she ordered
"Okay" I said and went back to her closet. After a few minutes I pulled out another dress, it was baby blue about the same length as the other one. It had sequins in a flowery design on the front. The straps were made of lace.
"Oh my God!" said Tessa approvingly. I went to get some shoes to match her dress. Light blue stilettos. That will go perfectly.
"My mom will never let me wear those!" exclaimed Tessa
"Too bad, baby!" I said trying to sound cool. I grabbed a necklace from her bedside table it was silver with light blue gems in the shape of hearts dangling from it.
"Rach!" Tessa sounded annoyed. But I ignored that.
"Try on the ensemble while I find something to match my dress" I instucted and she didn't argue. A moment later,
"Joe? Joe, can you hear me?" her mother's voice sounded sharply. I heard Tessa groan and rush out into the hall. I decided to take the time to try on the dress. I found a pair of purple flats and a necklace with a big amethyst. I put them both on and tied my straight, chestnut brown hair into a messy bun. I looked in the mirror. At that moment Tessa came into the room. She ghasped.
"What?" I said still looking in the mirror "Do I look that terrible?"
"No," she shook her head "You look amazing!"
"Thanks." I smiled "Let's go to my place to do our hair and makeup."
"Okay." Tessa agreed "But let me see my outfit first" I turned around as she changed into her outfit. I turned around, it looked amazing with her elbow length jet black hair and it's one electric blue streak.

It was lunch when we reached my house. Mom was making pizza, she loves to cook. In fact she was wearing her I (heart) cooking apron. "Hey Girls" she said
"Hi Maya" said Tessa
"Hey mom" I muttered.
